A Guide to a Utopian Society

Tips for Success:
Keep Expanding

The SHA recognizes the limitations of foresight of the writers of this document. As such, the SHA expects and encourages this document to be expanded upon in the future. These expansions, however, will not be permitted to violate the previous writings maintained within this document.
Discretion May be Advised

The SHA recognizes the inherent danger individuals may face from participation. While the SHA encourages a world civilization in which no harm will be done to the participant and hopes to see as many out and open atheist/agnostics as possible we understand doing so may be extremely dangerous due to social and familial rejection, imprisonment, assault, or execution. As a result SHA members may choose to out themselves but are not permitted to out other members including those who choose to join us who still maintain some type of faith or religious perspective.
Avoid the Power Struggle

The SHA acknowledges the inherent danger that this movement may be corrupted by forces of power including but not limited to a leadership hierarchy and finances. As such SHA forbids an established hierarchical leadership structure and any forms of commercial use or financial gain. Groups are permitted to have facilitators who are regularly rotated to ensure a plethora of voices are heard, concerns addressed, and to prevent a corrupted leadership dynamic. SHA meetings and initiatives are to occur through individual participation to mimic the contribution dynamic of Alcoholics Anonymous. Individuals and groups are not permitted to gain resources or finances from SHA with 100% of contributions afforded to the maintenance of the group and otherwise distributed amongst other charities or those in demonstrable need of assistance.
Let Go of Dogmas

The SHA makes clear that the writings of this document are not polite suggestions but codes of behavior which anyone of any faith or without faith can enact in their lives. We understand other philosophies and codes may be adopted to individual situations however these codes and philosophies may not stand in violation of the writings within this document. Note: It will also be viewed as unacceptable for SHA members to discriminate against others who hope to participate in SHA or who hope to follow these codes because they are not atheist/agnostic.
